Fr Varghese Areeckal elevated as Cor Episcopa

NEDUMBASSERY:  Father Varghese Areeckal, one of the seniormost priests of the Malankara Jacobite Church, has been elevated as Cor Episcopa in a function held at Thuruthissery Simhasana Valiya Church near here on Monday.Catholicose Thomas I Bava was the main celebrant and Metropolitan Alias Mar Athanasios was the co-celebrant of the ceremony. The ceremony was initiated on the Bull of Patriarch Zaka I. Alukkal Zacharia Ramban, Gabriel Ramban, Cor Episcopas Pathickal Ouseph and Poovanthara Mathai and many priests assisted in the ceremony.A meeting to felicitate Fr Varghese Cor Episcopa was inaugurated by Metropolitan Abraham Mar Severios. Metropolitan Alias Mar Athanasios presided.
