HYDERABAD: Chronicling the course of struggle in Chattisgarh, a collection of three essays by celebrated author and social activist Arundhati Roy and its Telugu translation will be unveiled in Hyderabad at Basheerbagh press club on Saturday at 6 pm. Titled 'Broken Republic', the book release will be attended by deputy editor of Economic and Political Weekly, Bernard D'Mello and the Booker award winning author herself, apart from noted sociologist Professor Ghanta Chakrapani and N. Venugopal, editor of Veekshanam.The Telugu translation is aptly called 'Dhwamsamaina Swapnam' and is the first book to be brought out by the city-based Malupu publishing house.The book consists of three articles written by the author for a weekly. The widely discussed essay 'Walking with the comrades' which charts her journey through the dreaded Dandakaranya with Maoists forms a part of the compilation. The controversial 'Chidambaram's war' and the descriptive piece on police atrocities on the tribals of Red corridor captured in 'Trickle down revolution' provide for an interesting read in the latest by Roy.
