HYDERABAD: An executive engineer of Indira Priyadarshini Jurala project was caught on Saturday for possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs 1 crore.Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths conducted searches on the residence of G Manikya Rao, the executive engineer of Jurala Project, Gadwal circle, in Mahabubnagar district and recovered the assets. Simultaneous searches were conducted on his relatives houses at Guntur, Mahabubnagar and in the city, an official release said.Manikya Rao was found in possession of three apartments, two in Hyderabad and one in Guntur, six buildings in Guntur, one plot each at Hyderabad and Guntur, 9.82 acre agricultural land at Guntur, gold weighing 174 grams, two cars and household articles worth Rs 3 lakh.“Though the documentary value of the assets would be around Rs 1 crore, the market value of the assets would be nearly Rs three crore,'' officials said.The bank balances of the officer are yet to be verified.Manikya Rao would be produced before a court for ACB cases in Vijayawada. Laptops stolen from Aadhar centreHYDERABAD: Miscreants broke into an Aadhar card centre at Golconda and decamped with three laptops and three web cameras on Friday night.The Aadhar centre was located on the premises of a play ground behind Golconda police station.Police said unidentified persons broke the lock of main door and committed the theft. On Saturday morning, when the staff came in, they found the equipment missing and complained to the police.A case has been registered.
