Srinagar: The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Kashmir sex scandal case.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashraf Mir, who was one of 11 persons accused by a teenager of raping her, was also arrested by the agency.

He was one of three persons who had failed to appear for a Test Identification Parade despite being issued two notices by the CBI, they said.

Yasmeena, the 15-year-old girl linked to the racket, had named 11 persons for allegedly raping her and 20 others who had visited the house of Sabeena, the alleged kingpin of the racket.

The CBI recently took over the investigation of the case following a request from the state government.
