Accusing a state minister of being involved in murder of her husband about two decades ago, a woman has asked the Congress high command not to allot ticket to the minister for the upcoming elections in Rajasthan.

Jor Kanwar, aged over 80 years, who was a former Panchayat Samiti Pradhan, alleged that her husband was killed in an attack by Rajendra Singh Gudha and his brothers in 1992.

"My husband was killed in an attack in 1992 by Gudha and his brothers. I want justice and appealing the Congress not to allot him ticket for this elections," she said at a press conference in Jaipur.

However, Jor's nephew Jagvir Singh said Gudha were discharged by a court in 2011 and they have appealed in the High Court. Jagvir Singh said they had approached Congress leaders in the past against Gudha.

"He is a politically influential person and is trying to get Congress ticket this time. But we will try our best to convince the party (leaders) that no person with criminal background is given opportunity to contest election," he said.

Gudha, when contacted, said that he was discharged from the case. "The woman is being misguided by my political rivals. The court has discharged me from the case. So making such allegations do not stand," he said.

Gudha, who was elected as a BSP candidate in the last Assembly polls, defected to Congress and became a minister of state in the Ashok Gehlot government.
