Elder sister 'Didi', Mamata Banerjee, on Wednesday gave personal touch to Raksha Bandhan by tying rakhis on the wrists of government officials, policemen, journalists and visitors at the Writers' Buildings.
The chief minister arrived with a tray of rakhis and sweets at the state secretariat to celebrate the day. Commissioner of Kolkata Police Surajit Kar Purakayastha received sisterly blessings from the Mamata. Those at the CMO also received rakhis from the chief minister. She later asked the policemen on duty at the state secretariat to come forward and tied rakhis on their wrists.
The chief minister held similar programmes with partymen besides posting her best wishes on her Facebook page.
