New Delhi: Flaying the Delhi police move to detain Anna Hazare and his supporters, Kiran Bedi said on Tuesday that Emergency has revisited the country.
"This detention is undemocratic and unconstitutional," she said.
Kiran Bedi said "somebody else" is behind the police action as the force is capable enough to handle such peaceful protests.
"This has not been done by Delhi Police, somebody else else is behind it. Delhi Police is capable enough to handle such peaceful protests," she said.
"When Anna asked the police about his crime, police said they were following orders," Bedi added.
On detention of Hazare, she said there is not much difference between detention and arrest.
"What is the difference between detention and arrest? There's no difference. When you are detained that means you are temporarily arrested and when your freedom is curbed, that is arrest," she said.
We will move court: Bhushan
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Prashant Bhushan said he will move court.
"I will approach the court today," he said. "There will be massive protests across the country including Delhi. The government will not be able to handle the storm now," said Bhushan.
"This is totally unconstitutional. The government has no right to continue, this has become like the British rule. The country has 120 crore mature people, they will take it forward," said Shanti Bhushan.
Detention unfortunate: Santosh Hegde
"Is it that we don't believe in freedom of speech and expression? Anna was arrested by the police, what does it indicate? The Delhi police does not have the guts to arrest someone who has become a Gandhi unless he has orders to do so. The intention is clear, it is to put down this movement. Why does this government want to put down this movement? Because it's scared," said Santosh Hegde.
