New Delhi: A minor girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour at his residence in a central Delhi locality, police said on Monday. 22-year-old Mohammad Rashid, who works in a factory in Mayapuri, was arrested from his house after the victim narrated the horror tale to her parents.
Police said Rashid took the girl, who was playing with her friends outside her flat in Turkman Gate area, to his house on the pretext of giving her a chocolate. Once he reached his flat, the youth allegedly raped the 6-year-old girl and threatened her of dire consequences if she spoke about it to her mouth.
However, the girl went home and told her parents about the incident who in turn informed police. A complaint lodged by the victim's parents who took their daughter to a government hospital where her medical examination confirmed rape.
The incident came in the wake of a gangrape of a 23-year-old student that has shocked the city.
