However, it was the end of the road for men's 64 kg defending champion Manoj Kumar who was ousted from the quarter-finals 0:3 by England's Samuel Maxwell with identical scorelines of 27:30 in each of the three rounds.
Sarita won in perfect fashion, notching up 10:9 points in both the rounds to Nigeria's Kehinde Obareh in the last 16 clash.
The Indian will next take on Welsh Charlene Jones in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
