CM gives hope to retrenched employees

PUDUCHERRY: A delegation of retrenched daily-rated employees met Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Monday and apprised him of their plight after their retrenchment. N Saravanan, one of the members of the delegation, told Express that the Chief Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them of a ‘good decision’ in this regard on August 24, the day on which the budget would be presented.Nearly 500 retrenched daily-rated employees went to meet him, but only a small delegation was allowed.Meanwhile, another group staged a hunger-strike on Monday urging the NR government to take back the retrenched employees.
