The wing will also inquire former commissioners Dileep Rau, Bharath Lal Meena and H Siddiah. However, CID sources said that there is also a proposal to handover the case from Economic Offence Wing to Special Inquiry Squad wing. “If the scam was only related to misappropriation of funds, the economic offence wing could have taken the case. But there was a fire accident at the BBMP office during the investigation. Now, officials are planing to handover the case to special inquiry squad wing,” sources said.Presently, the case is still with the higher officials. “We are soon forming a team which will include DySp, SP, SI and other sub-ordinates,” sources said.It can be recalled that former BBMP commissioner H Siddaiah had registered a complaint with the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) based on the report by Technical Vigilance Committee under Commissioner (TVCC) to investigate the scam. The political parties wanted a thorough probe into the scam by either CBI or CID. Finally, the state government ordered a CID probe into the scam.
