HYDERABAD: Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) founder K Chiranjeevi along with his party MLAs and senior leaders arrived in New Delhi on Friday to complete the Congress-PRP merger process. As part of it, the actor-turned politician will take the Congress membership in the presence of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi at the AICC office on Saturday. His party members will take the membership at Gandhi Bhavan here on August 22.Chiranjeevi told reporters that he was happy about taking Congress membership in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. Besides, he said, it was a momentous occasion to join the Congress on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi. To a query, Chiranjeevi hoped that ‘justice’ (implying that important posts in the state cabinet and various corporations would be offered to PRP leaders) would be meted to his partymen after completion of the merger process.It was not proper to expect posts before completion of merger formalities, he added. It is learnt that the Congress activists would give a red carpet welcome to Chiranjeevi on his arrival in the city airport on August 22.
