Mumbai: Responding to accusations levelled at Bollywood for not churning out responsible movies, actor Abhishek Bachchan said he believes tinsel town produces some good quality and meaningful cinema.
"In a film industry where we are accused of not making responsible films, Karan Johar is blamed for making a good film like Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (KANK)," he said.
Bachchan said he felt privileged to be associated with megastars like his father Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherji and Preity Zinta and said it feels good to be ''critically acclaimed''.
Standing by his stand on KANK, he said, ''Karan in his previous films was known as a candyfloss director. I think he has shown amazing maturity by making a film like KANK, which is thought-provoking and makes you question some very basic things.''
''Karan has brought up a very pertinent question in film, 'What if you find your soul mate after marriage?''' added Abhishek.
