BANGALORE: Four city markets will soon get a new look. The detailed project report for remodeling of Sheshadripuram market is being prepared by external consultants and soon, the market will be re-developed.“The local market is in a pitiable state. We have been asked to come up with a plan to demolish it and come up with a new structure”, said Prashant Suryanarayan, consultant for BDA. He added vendors will be given a temporary space while the construction work begins.The BBMP has entrusted the responsibility of remodeling the Malleswaram, Sheshadripuram, Jayanagar Shopping Complex and KR Puram Market to BDA.While the Malleswaram market will be remodeled as a mall, the structure and layout for the Sheshadripuram market has not been finalised yet. Suryanarayan said that it is dependant on the ‘catchment’. He explained that the design and structure depends on the location. “Whether it will be a mall or not cannot be decided, but it will be a market-cum-commercial complex,” he said.On being asked about the number of vendors that will be accommodated in the new structure, he said that the number has not been finalized yet.
