Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh shared a wholesome moment with his parents after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. India reigned supreme in Barbados as they overcame South Africa in the grand finale to become the champions.
The Indian cricketers went emotional following the triumph with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya breaking into tears.
Arshdeep was later seen handing over his winner’s medal to his father.
Next, the pacer put the medal in his mother’s hands who posed for a picture.

The clip has drawn a flood of reactions from users on social media.
A user commented on how Arshdeep’s family has made a ton of sacrifices for the pacer to reach the pinnacle. “I know how much struggle Arshdeep’s family did for him. How many sacrifices they had made. He was just a small naughty boy when I met him. Now the pride of India,” read the comment.
Another wrote, “No better support than family’s support.”
One netizen hoped Arshdeep continues to carry this form. “Arhsdeep bowled really well in this World Cup. I hope he continues to perform like this,” the user posted.
Another highlighted how the pacer’s father was praying for India’s triumph while defending 30 runs from as many balls. “When we had to defend 30 runs in 30 balls, Arshdeep Singh’s father was praying to God by crossing his finger and that was captured during the live match,” the user wrote.
The prayers were answered as India won the match by seven runs at the Kensington Oval. The left-arm pacer delivered an economical 19th over in which he gave away only four runs and finished the game with two wickets.
“It was a dream for Arshdeep to win the World Cup and to wear his World Cup medal was a special moment for all of us too,” the star bowler’s mother told The Indian Express.
Arshdeep’s father said, “Arshdeep is happy to play his part in getting the second winning star on the T20 World Cup Indian team jersey. It’s just a start for Arshdeep and like the whole of India, we are overjoyed.”
Arshdeep Singh’s 17-wicket haul has now taken the T20I tally to 79 wickets in 52 matches.
