MYSORE: I am ready to beg for my child but I will never give her to anybody. I need justice from my husband, says Lipi, alias Priya, who has completed two years of imprisonment under section 14 A(b) of Foreigners Act in Mysore Central Prison.A scientist from the city offered Rs. 10,000 as the fine amount to save Lipi from serving two more months in prison, on failure to pay the fine as per the court order, and also offered to help her go back to Bangladesh if she agreed to hand over her child for adoption. Lipi, however, rejected the offer . When the same was communicated by the Chief Superintendent of Mysore Central Prison P N Jayasimha over phone, the scientist hung up. The scientist had come forward to help after seeing reports of the tragic story of Lipi. For this, the scientist planned to adopt Lipi’s daughter, Sania, for her own daughter, who is settled in the US.After hearing about this, chairman of USA Educational and Charitable Trust of Mysore C Y Shivegowda has come forward voluntarily to pay the fine amount to help Lipi.Disclosing this, Jayasimha said, “We are informing Nazarbad Police about releasing Lipi on Wednesday as per the formalities, as she belongs to Bangladesh. Thereafter, City Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal will make necessary arrangements to send Lipi to her country.”Lipi (22), is a native of Barisale Village in Kulana Nagar of Bangla, who was cheated by a person residing in Vijayanagar. She charged that her husband deserted her and refused to acknowledge having a relationship with her. She was rescued by NGO Odanadi from flesh trade. The Third JMFC Court convicted Lipi, imposing two years’ imprisonment and Rs. 10,000 fine on August 12, 2010 for entering India without obtaining a permit and staying in India without the required documents. While pronouncing the sentence, the court ordered her to undergo another two months on failure of payment of the fine.
