Balotelli is taking City to a Premier League tribunal this week, to overturn a fine imposed by the team last season.
London: Controversial Italy striker Mario Balotelli is taking Manchester City to a Premier League tribunal this week, reportedly in a bid to overturn a heavy fine imposed by the English champions last season.
Balotelli missed 11 games because of suspension in the 2011-12 campaign, causing City to hand him a fine believed to be 340,000 pounds ($550,000). British media report Monday that Balotelli has failed in an internal appeal against the sanction.
The striker was dropped from City's squad for Saturday's 3-1 win at Newcastle after a poor display in his team's 3-2 loss to Manchester United in a top-of-the-table derby match on Dec. 9.
