HYDERABAD: He had an original Indian passport when he fled to Dubai and then to Abu Dhabi. But when an Arab woman, with whom he fell in love, insisted that her family traditions demanded that she marry only an Arab, a love-struck Hadi obtained a fake passport under an Arab name, only to be arrested years later.Hadi (39), who had earlier been arrested in the city for selling a firearm and ammunition to an alleged Lashkare- taiba militant Muhammed Nissar, had jumped bail in 2003 and fled the country. But after a gap of almost 8 years, when he returned, he was again apprehended by cops, this time on charges of holding multiple passports.Quoting Hadi, sources associated with investigation told Express that while working as a taxi driver in Abu Dhabi, Hadi used to pick up and drop Arab woman, Shama, from her residence to her place of work. They fell in love and he proposed marriage to her. But Shama insisted that she could only marry an Arab and despite the fact that Hadi was living under guise of an Arab, she demanded a passport as proof.Desperate to marry Shama, Hadi used all his contacts in Abu Dhabi to obtain a fake passport of that country but could not succeed. He then came in touch with Taufeeq, a Dubai-based travel agent, who assured to get him a fake passport.Taufeeq then contacted his agents in Hyderabad who got forged documents submitted to Passport office and obtained a passport for Hadi in the name of Mohammed Bin Zahed Al Kaseri in 2006.Later, Hadi approached Shama’s relatives with his passport as proof and the couple got married.Sources said that in February 2011, Hadi met with a road accident in Abu Dhabi in which both his legs were fractured. He underwent treatment there for several months but decided to continue it in Hyderabad. He came to Hyderabad on August 16 and headed to his house in Gudimalkapur where his three brothers stay.He had timed his visit to coincide with Ramzan celebrations and a family function“He was confident that since it was festival time, he could escape unnoticed. He also felt that many would not recognise him as his appearance had changed over the years,” sources said. But a couple of days after he landed, counter intelligence sleuths received a tipoff and picked him up for questioning.Hadi, was alleged to have links with terror groups including Abdul Aziz gangThe alleged terror links and second fake passport were the focus of interrogation.During interrogation, sleuths found no link to terror groups though he reportedly provided information about one involving some Hyderabadis in Abu Dhabi.
