New Delhi: The police has made a fourth arrested in the baby Falak case. A woman named Aarti has been arrested for pushing the 15-year-old, who got Falak to AIIMS, into prostitution.

The 15-year-old girl was in news after she brought baby Falak, who was allegedly beaten up by her, to AIIMS for treatment claiming that she was her mother. Alleging that her father used to physically torture her, the girl had eloped from home and later met Rajkumar, who entrusted the girl with Falak two months ago.

Meanwhile, Falak continued to be on life support at AIIMS. Doctors have said that her survival chances are bleak, less than 50 per cent, and the next three days will be critical. Doctors are expecting a new culture report to see how the baby has been responding to the new antibiotics being given to her.

"She is still critical and her chances of survival continues to remain less than 50 per cent as she has developed high chances of multi-organ failure as the organism that has caused infection in the brain are there in the chest and have now entered the blood.

"We can say she has developed septicaemia or sepsis that can spread to other organs like kidney and liver too," Neurosurgeon Dr Deeepak Agarwal said.

Others arrested earlier include the teenager's father, who the police say, abused her. The other two have been arrested on charges of sexually harassing her and pushing her into the sex trade. The arrested have been identified as Jitender Gupta, her father, and the couple Sandeep Pandey and Pooja.

The girl was sexually abused by several men. Pooja had taken her to Etah in Uttar Pradesh where she was allegedly forced to marry an old man.

"When she refused to do this she was raped allegedly by Sandeep, Pooja's husband. After this, the girl was again brought to Delhi by Pooja and Sandeep and was kept at her house in Tughlakabad, where she was again sexually exploited by Sandeep repeatedly," Choudhry said.

The arrests came following instructions from Child Welfare Committee, which is looking into the case of the teenaged girl, that a case of cruelty and abuse be registered against her father and a separate case against four persons who allegedly sexually abused her.

The teenaged girl, whose mother had died, had left her house in June last year as her father used to beat her. She was also not provided food by him.

While recording her statement, she told the Commission that she ran away from her home as her father used to beat her.

"She went in search of a woman who used to come to her house. That woman took her to Pooja, who belongs to West Bengal and is involved in human trafficking. Pooja took the girl to Etah where she was forced to marry an old man.

"When she refused to this she was raped by Sandeep, Pooja's husband. After this, the girl was again brought to Delhi by Pooja and Sandeep and was kept at her house in Tughlakabad, where she was again sexually exploited by Sandeep repeatedly," Choudhry said.

Pooja then allegedly forced the girl into human trafficking and sent her to another place in Munirka, where she was again sexually exploited. It was here that she met Rajkumar.

She went away with Rajkumar and married him in Kalkaji and started living with him in Mahipalpur, police said.

Gupta is a vegetable seller. He had married one Pushpa in 1993 who died 5-6 years back. He has only one daughter. He is an accused in a murder case and is currently out on bail.

Pandey is a labourer who got married to Pooja 3-4 years back. Pooja is a native of Sona Gachi in Kolkata and came to Delhi 10-12 years back.
