Former Union minister and actor Ambareesh announced that he would contest the Assembly elections from Mandya district.
Declining to announce the constituency, he said there is pressure from party men and fans to contest from any of the seven constituencies in the district. Ambreesh, who tasted defeat in Srirangapatna constituency against JD(S) candidate Ramesh Babu has now started touring the region after he was elevated as KPCC vice-president. Downplaying differences in the party, he said the Congress will return to power with an absolute majority if they work in co-ordination.
Clarifying that he was not an aspirant for the posts of CM or KPCC president, Ambreesh said that he would carry out the responsibilities assigned by the party.
