According to reports, the popular tourist spot is Kanakakkunnu Palace, located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city and has become a venue for many cultural events and seminars. There are many major tourist attractions near Kanakakkunnu Palace, including the Napier Museum and the Zoo.

The palace is situated on top of a hill. Earlier, this palace was a guest house built in the 19th century during the reign of King Moolam Thirunal of Travancore. Later, it was renovated into a palace, and a tennis court was also built in the courtyard.
