Warangal: The victim of a vicious acid attack earlier this month has died in the hospital on Wednesday morning.
Swapnika, who had been admitted at a Hyderabad hospital succumbed to her injuries. She developed complications before suffering a cardiac arrest.
Her body has been taken to Warangal for a post mortem.
On December 10, Swapnika and her friend Praneetha, were riding back from their college on a two-wheeler when 3 boys allegedly threw acid at them.
The two girls suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized.
The 3 accused were shot down by Andhra Police on December 12 after they allegedly resisted arrest and tried to attack the officers and flee.
The episode is suspected to be a crime of passion - Swapnika was allegedly being harrassed by one of the perpetrators, Srinivasa Rao.
