BANGALORE: The Basaveshwaranagar police arrested seven people who had robbed a person of Rs 38 lakh. The police recovered Rs 20.54 lakh cash, a car, gold and silver jewels and four mobile phones, total worth Rs 28.64 lakh from them.The accused have been identified as Chandrappa alias Guruji, 38, Sandeepa, 21, and Harish alias Hotte, 21, Krishnamurthy alias Krishna, 21, Manjunath alias TVS Manja, 22,Adarsh alias Jeevan,23and Harsha, 22.According to the police, the accused were moving around suspiciously on Laggere Ring Road and were arrested after questioning. When interrogated, they revealed that they were involved in the robbery reported near Shiroor Park in Malleswaram on April 15 night. While the victim Shivanna, was carrying Rs 38 lakh cash belonging to Prajwal Properties Private Limited, the accused had rammed into his scooter with a bike. As Shivanna fell from the scooter, the accused had injured him and had escaped with the cash. The accused are also involved in two chain snatching cases and one house theft case reported in Basaveshwaranagar police station limits and a chain snatching case reported in Kamakshipalya police station limits, the police added.
