Mumbai: Thirty-two people allegedly lost their cell phones during the funeral of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan at Shivaji Park crematorium on Thursday, police said.
Shivaji Park police station has received 32 complaints of missing mobile phones, but clarified that complainants have not claimed that their mobiles were stolen.
Shiv Sena MP from Aurangabad, Chandrakant Khaire was among the persons who lost mobiles, police sources said.
The police station has also received two complaints of pickpocketing during that time. Shiv Sena MLA from Yavatmal, Sanjay Rathod has complained that his purse carrying Rs 25,000 was picked at the crematorium, the sources said.
In the other pickpocketing case, where the complainant is a BJP worker from Andheri, police have arrested two persons and recovered Rs 3,100 out of Rs 5,000 which the two had allegedly stolen, they said.
