Bikaner: In a horrific incident in Rajasthan's Bikaner district, a 13-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly gangraped repeatedly by eight of her teachers for over one-and-a-half years. The case came to light now after the girl fell terminally ill.
The girl is now suffering from blood cancer, and her parents have filed an FIR. The girl has also alleged that the teachers shot "a video of the act, blackmailed her and her parents, and even threatened to kill her".
"I was raped. They undressed me, and clicked my pictures." The girl informed that there were 7-8 people. She doesn't know everybody's name, though. "I even told my parents about this after a few days," she said.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Singh Kataria said there are two cases in nokha police station. First, the school filed a case of assault on teachers, then the father of the girl filed the case against the teachers.
"Generally if eight people gangrape a minor, it's unlikely that she would not have gone and reported the matter at home. We have set up a medical board. We are looking into the matter and will take action against those at fault."
"In India, anyone can make allegations against anyone," he said, "we will know the facts only after the report, and then we will accordingly take action."
Banwari Lal, CO, Nokha Police said that a complaint has been registered. However, nobody has been arrested as yet.
"The FIR lodged under Section 376-D (gangrape) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act," Nokha police station SHO Darjaram said.
The state Panchayati Raj minister Rajendra Rathore expressed shock at the unfortunate incident, saying that he was saddened by it and he will "take responsibility for the victim's treatment".
