The French Loaf bakery on Tuesday came up with a 1000 kg photocake featuring images of ace music director, ‘Isaignani’ Ilaiyaraja at Express Avenue Mall here on Tuesday. This is the second attempt by the bakery to create world’s longest photocake.
Made from 500 kg of chocolate powder, 300 kg of chocolate, 200 kg of fresh cream and 1,000 icing sheets, the cake also featured pictures from films that the music maestro is associated with.
Each kg of the cake, assembled by the French Loaf team, headed by Chef Bhoopesh, was priced at `1,500.
The proceeds from the initiative would go to the Ekam Foundation which provides medical support to underprivileged children.
Several thousands of visitors to the mall had an opportunity to see the cake. Some even booked pieces to take back home but advance bookings had left only 180 kg up for grabs.
Adding glamour to the event was the singer trio Srinivas, actor Parthiban and director Gautam Menon.
The event was hosted by popular television anchor Archana.
