'T'-Hub: Cn This BRS Govt's Pet Project Make Hyderabad India’s Next Silicon Valley?
The facility, which was established with the aim of creating an ecosystem to encourage startups in India, is now home to over 410 new businesses from the fields of aviation, agriculture, artificial intelligence and defence tech

‘T’-Hub (Technology Hub), a 10-storey T-shaped structure built in an area of 5,85,000 sq. ft in Hyderabad, has the swankiest address in the city. Touted as the world’s largest technology incubator facility, T-Hub was awarded the “Best Incubator in India” at the National Startup Awards 2022.

The facility, which was established with the aim of creating an ecosystem to encourage startups in India, is now home to over 410 new businesses from the fields of aviation, agriculture, artificial intelligence and defence tech.

T-Hub, a vision of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Telangana government, is a pet project of the state IT Minister KT Rama Rao, who has made relentless efforts over the last nine years to make it a success.

The project which was conceived in 2015, and inaugurated in June last year by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has since seen an investment of Rs 400 crore by the state government.

“All the development is continuous and we are riding on the back of some giants. This is the second phase of development that we have seen and we aspire to continue this beautiful journey,” M Srinivas Rao, CEO of IT Hub told CNN News18

TurboHire.co, an AI powered recruitment experience is one of the start ups set up at T-Hub. Recruitment is an intense social engagement process now and in this era of smartphones and 5G, it is unmanageable with traditional processes and technology.

TurboHire helps companies such as Tata Motors, Ola, Britannia, Zee, Motilal Oswal and others with 65 per cent faster hiring and 50 per cent fewer interviews per hire across both white collar and grey/blue collar job families.

Founder of TurboHire, Deepak Agarwal, while talking to CNN News18 said, “This has not only given us a wonderful facility to work in, but has also contributed a great deal to our growth. The vision of KTR and MSR Has come to reality today. Not only does this facility give us a good location and good access but also ensures That we get help when it was needed the most. The initial investment by T-Hub Was that seed that was needed To see it grow into a beautiful tree.”

Biva, a no-code analytics platform, that offers E-commerce businesses a unified analytics perspective across multiple platforms also has an office at T-Hub. The company delineates brands’ customer journeys into pre, during, and post-sale details through pre-built dashboards and reports. This enables workflow automation and seamless interpretation of insights for enhanced business efficiency. Another unit here sees this as a leap forward to India’s tech-ade

“In my growing up years, I saw how Hyderabad was developed into an IT hub. It was more of service driven city, which saw companies like Microsoft come here. But now this facility helps us develop a project and deliver a product. I do not have to worry about renting expensive workspace, nor do I have to worry about market strategy or access to market. It is all under one roof. Therefore, this is another model of development crucial to the citizens here, “said Biva founder Abhiram Kolli while talking on why it is important to have incubation centres like this for people who want to drive innovation.

Banyan Nation, one of India’s first vertically integrated plastic recycling companies that helps global brands use more recycled plastic instead of virgin plastic, also has a T-Hub address.

“Our proprietary plastic cleaning technology converts collected post consumer and post industrial plastic waste into high quality recycled granules –  with its base here at thub, here’s what they say state handholding means the key,” Mani Vajipey, founder of Banyan Nation told CNN News18.

Vajipey calls Telangana a start-up state and said it is in his DNA to support initiative like T-Hub.

“We were one of the first few start-ups that were part of the incubation Centre. We have been able to get support from the government with the government being one of our first clients. When you get support in the sustainability space from the government, it becomes a lot more easier To look at finding solutions. Easy access to investment opportunities and investors With a support system like this holds the key,” Vajipey said.

With state of the art technology, focus on encouraging new ideas, providing the much-needed support, the BRS-led Telangana government is focusing to keep the reputation of Hyderabad intact as the tech capital of the country.

As a music maestro AR Rahman once said to IT Minister KTR, “If this is the model of the government, then this is indeed the model that everybody needs to follow.”
