On September 15, Viraj Ashwin’s much-anticipated film Mayapetika had its digital premiere on Aha. Directed by Ramesh Raparthi, the movie features a stellar cast including Payal Rajput, Viraj Ashwin, Simrat Kaur, Rajath Raghav, Sunil, Prudhvi Raj, Srinivas Reddy, Himaja, Syamala and others. The storyline revolves around a luxurious smartphone initially owned by Payal Rajput, who forms a strong connection with its extraordinary features. As the device changes hands, moving through diverse locations, each new owner contributes unique experiences, prompting the audience to ponder whether the smartphone is a blessing or a curse.

Srinivasa Reddy’s portrayal of a transgender character in Mayapetika is commendable, showcasing his outstanding performance. Despite the film’s innovative trailers generating initial interest, some critics found that the director fell short of fully exploring the required emotional depth and seriousness in crucial moments.
