Can You Hide Channels?
There is no official way to hide WhatsApp channels. The most you can do is unfollow a channel or temporarily push the Channels section to the bottom of the Updates tab. Can I use an older version of WhatsApp to hide channels? Unfortunately, no. Websites claim that you can remove channels by sideloading an older version on your Android phone, but we tested this method. You'll receive a message informing you the app is outdated and it won't let you continue. Furthermore, installing APK files from unofficial sources may be harmful to your phone. Currently, there is no way to sideload apps on iPhone, though this may change in the near future.
Hiding Channels in Updates
Hide the channels in Updates. You can push the channels section to the bottom of the Updates tab. This will put the rest of your updates first. This is only a temporary solution. When you open WhatsApp again, the channels will be back to the top. Use the following steps push Channels to the bottom of the Updates page: Tap the Updates tab. Tap View Updates.
Unfollowing a Channel
Unfollow your channels. The only way to not see updates from a specific channel is to unfollow it. Use the following steps to unfollow a channel: Tap the Updates tab. Tap a channel. Tap the icon with three dots (⋮) in the upper-right corner. Tap Unfollow. Tap Unfollow in the confirmation window.
