How to Copy a LibreOffice Impress Master Slide
How to Copy a LibreOffice Impress Master Slide
LibreOffice Impress does not currently allow master slides to be copied. A user must start from scratch each time when creating and formatting multiple slide masters that need to be very similar. It would be easier to copy one master and just change the format a little. This wikiHow offers a simple workaround that involves making a a copy of your file and renaming the master slide.
Steps

Open your Impress presentation in LibreOffice. Go to "View" > "Slide Master".

Format the "default" master slide to your preference by changing the font, colors, background, layout or other stuff.

Save the file.

Change the format of the "default" master slide again.

Rename the master slide. Do this by right clicking on the thumbnail of the "default" master slide. Choose "Rename Master" from the pop up menu.

Use "Save As" to save the Impress file under a new name to create a second copy of your presentation. Go to "File" > "Save As".

Open the original file, the first copy that you saved.

Copy any slide that has had the "default" master slide applied to it.

Paste that copied slide into the second presentation.

Open the Slide Master view again. You will see two master slides: one is the renamed master, one is the default master.

What's your reaction?
