How to Contact Microsoft
It can be a real pain if you’re trying to solve a problem with a Microsoft product. Rather than trying to figure out the issue on your own, you can contact customer support to troubleshoot it. Since Microsoft offers a lot of products and services, there are many ways to reach out to them. We’ll start with how to reach general support and move on to reaching specific Microsoft services so you can resolve any issue you’re having!
Steps

Customer Service Line

Dial 1-800-642-7676 to talk with a representative about your issues. If you’re in the United States, you can call this number any day of the week at any time. Follow any prompts that you’re given over the phone. When you reach a representative, let them know about the problem you’re having and they can help you walk through possible solutions. Online Chat

Message a virtual agent your issues to find solutions. Go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus and click “Get Started” to open the chat window. Write a brief description of the problem you’re having in the text box on the bottom of the screen. The virtual agent will provide a list of options to select from to continue the conversation and narrow down the issue you’re facing. Continue following the prompts until you reach a solution. For example, you can write something like “trouble logging into account” to start the chat. If you want to start the chat over, click the Refresh button in the top right corner. If you aren’t able to solve your problem in the webchat, type “request a phone call” in the text box to speak to a representative. They’ll call you as soon as they’re available so you don’t have to wait on hold.

Twitter

Send a tweet to @MicrosoftHelps for quick responses. Start your tweet with their Twitter handle so Microsoft gets a notification when you send it. Briefly describe the problem you’re having before posting the tweet to your feed. Microsoft will reply with a fix, or they’ll ask you to send a direct message so you can further explain the issue. Find fixes for the most common problems with any Microsoft product. Go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/ and select the service you’re having a problem with. Scroll through the common topics listed and choose the one that most closely matches what you’re experiencing. Follow all of the instructions listed on the web page to see if it works out for you. If you still aren’t able to solve your problem, follow the link on the page to start a web chat or contact additional support.

Microsoft Store Support

Call 1-877-696-7786 for any issues with a purchase. If you live in the United States, dial the number and follow any prompts they give you. Let them know about any issues you’ve had with purchases, sales, or shopping with the Microsoft store. The representative will do everything they can to help you figure out the problem. Xbox Support

Start a web chat or request a phone call for account or console problems. Go to https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us and click on the “Contact Us” button. Click on the dropdown menu to select the service that’s giving you trouble. Then, use the second dropdown menu to select the specific issue you’re having. They’ll offer some solutions in a webchat, or you can ask to schedule a phone call to speak to a representative directly. The webchat is available 24 hours a day every day. Phone support is available on weekdays from 6 AM – 5 PM PST, 7 days a week. You will need to sign in to your Xbox account to complete the online form.

Business Admin Support

Reach out to 1-800-865-9408 if you’re an admin of a business account. You can get technical support at any time of day throughout the entire week, but billing support is only available from 9 AM – 5 PM PST. Call the number if you’re in the US and tell the representative about your issue and they’ll do everything they can to help work through it with you. The representative may send a verification PIN to your email if you’re calling from a phone number they don’t recognize. Microsoft Advertising Support

Start an online chat or phone call if you’re running ads with Microsoft. If you have questions about ads you’re running on Microsoft platforms, call 1-800-518-5689 to talk directly to a representative. If you’d rather work through the issue in a web chat, visit https://about.ads.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-advertising-support and click on “Chat Now” to open a new chat window. You can call the helpline on weekdays from 6 AM – 6 PM PST. The online chat service is open 24 hours a day on weekdays, but is closed on weekends.

Microsoft Azure Support

Submit a ticket if you’re having any issues with your Azure account. Go to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/create-ticket/ and click on the “Create an incident” button. Log in to your Microsoft Azure account to access the form. Fill it out with your name, email, and a brief description of the problem you’re having. A representative will reach out to by email to help you resolve the issue. Billing and subscription support is available for anyone who uses Microsoft Azure, but you can only get technical support if you purchased a support plan.

Windows Developer Support

File a report online to get an email response. Visit the developer support site at https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/support/. Select “Contact us” from the menu at the top of the window. Open the dropdown menu to select the main topic for the issue you’re currently facing. Then click on the “Submit an incident” button that appears near the bottom of the window. Log in to your Microsoft account when the new window pops up so you can fill out and submit the form. A representative will send you an email with more information and help. Microsoft Careers Support

Fill out an online form for anything related to a job at Microsoft. If you’re applying for a position at Microsoft, visit https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/support to access the support request. Fill out your full name and email address in the matching text boxes. Then, open the dropdown menu under “Issue type” to select the problem you’re having. Write a short description of the problem in the last text box before submitting the form. You can also upload an attachment or screenshot if you want to submit a new document, such as an updated resume or application.
