London: Injured duo Danny Welbeck and Glen Johnson have been included in England's 23-man squad for Euro 2012. The Manchester United forward has been struggling with an ankle injury sustained in a challenge with Nigel de Jong in the Manchester derby towards the end of last season while Johnson has sat out training recently with an infected toe.
Joe Hart, Robert Green and Jack Butland, replacing John Ruddy, take up the goalkeeping positions, while Ashley Cole, Leighton Baines, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Gary Cahill, Phil Jones, Phil Jagielka and Glen Johnson are the defenders.
Arsenal youngsters Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott join Scott Parker, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Ashley Young, Stewart Downing, and James Milner among England’s confirmed midfielders.
In attack Andy Carroll, Jermain Defoe and Welbeck will fight over the forward positions in the absence of Wayne Rooney for the opening two games in Group D.
