Geneva: Philippe Senderos says arriving at the World Cup will help Switzerland's players forget about their recent struggles and help the team find its true identity.

Senderos thinks the pressure the defensive-minded team faces at home to play an attacking style of football will disappear once the tournament starts.

Senderos tells The Associated Press that fans are wrong to expect the Swiss to play like Spain or Barcelona at home.

Switzerland's 1-1 draw with Italy on Saturday was a fifth straight home game without a win, though its performance was much improved.

Four days earlier, the Swiss were booed off the field after a 1-0 loss to Costa Rica.

Switzerland arrives in South Africa on Thursday.
