London: Premier League champion Manchester City has signed winger Scott Sinclair from Swansea on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Sinclair, who played for Britain in the Olympic football tournament this year, will replace Adam Johnson in City's squad after the England international joined Sunderland last week.

Neither the personal terms nor the financial details of the English midfielder's transfer were disclosed.

The 23-year-old Sinclair says "playing alongside some of the best players in the world is exciting for me and when you see two Champions League fixtures against Real Madrid on the horizon, it brings it all home."

Sinclair joined Swansea from Chelsea in 2010, and impressed in the Welsh club's first year in the Premier League last season.
