Villa hope Keane can provide the same sort of spark as Henry has achieved after rejoining Arsenal.
Birmingham: Aston Villa has signed striker Robbie Keane on a two-month loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy. The 31-year-old Ireland captain is staying sharp during the Major League Soccer offseason, with the European Championship coming up in June.
Keane has been training with Villa since the start of the week and will be in contention to make his debut on Saturday in the Prmeier League against Everton, which has Los Angeles Galaxy teammate Landon Donovan on loan.
Villa manager Alex McLeish hopes Keane can provide the same sort of spark as Thierry Henry has achieved after rejoining Arsenal, scoring the winner against Leeds in the FA Cup on Monday.
Keane moved to Los Angeles from Tottenham last year.
