I am coming to Mumbai: Sunil Chhetri
AFC Challenge Cup was in England for his trials at Coventry City.

New Delhi: After Goal.com had exclusively reported that Sunil Chhetri might make it for the Mumbai FC – East Bengal game, the Indian international confirmed the same from London late on Friday night.

"Yes, I am reaching Mumbai around noon," said Sunil.

The AFC Challenge Cup hero had been to England for his trials at Coventry City which was cut short after manager Chris Coleman believed that Sunil wasn’t the answer to his club’s woes.

"He could also be playing the match on Saturday in Mumbai if he takes a Friday evening flight from here. It takes only seven hours to reach India," said Sunil’s agent Yogesh Joshee exclusively to Goal.com a few days back.

East Bengal coach Subhash Bhowmick confirmed that the 24 year old would reach Mumbai but didn’t make a concrete comment on whether he shall play him or not.

"As I said earlier, we will have to evaluate his situation. If he suffers from jet lag then we shall not keep him in the 18."

Debabrata Sarkar, an official from East Bengal said,"He would reach around 12 in the afternoon. I am not sure whether he would play or not. He called up from London and said he would try to make it for the game (against Mumbai FC)"

Sunil Chhetri is expected to reach Mumbai around noon in a Jet Airways flight.
