London: The English Football Association has charged Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway with misconduct after confronting the match officials following the team's Premier League opener against Tottenham.
Holloway was unhappy that a penalty was awarded against his newly-promoted side, allowing Roberto Soldado to give Tottenham a 1-0 win from the spot. Just before then, Holloway was angry that referee Mark Clattenburg and his officials didn't spot a foul by Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli on Palace midfielder Stephen Dobbie.
Holloway remonstrated with Clattenburg in the referee's office after the match, and the FA says his behavior amounted to "improper conduct."
The FA also alleges that Holloway questioned the integrity of the referee and match officials with his post-match comments to the media. Holloway has until Friday to respond to the charge.
