The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) announced the Class 10th results on May 7. Many students have made it to the meritorious list on the board including Kritika Sharma of Neugal Model Public Senior Secondary School. This school is situated in Bhawarna, Kangra district.
Kritika has become the second topper by scoring an impressive 99.71 per cent (698 out of 700). It was not an easy journey for her to secure this position due to the impoverished situation in her home. Her father is employed at a shop with a meagre income of Rs 3,000. Despite the dire circumstances, the Kangra girl became the second topper with her unwavering dedication to academics. Keep reading this space to know more about her.
Kritika said that she still cannot believe that she has secured second rank in Himachal Pradesh class 10th board result. The Kangra native has given credit to her parents for her achievement. She also expressed gratitude to the school director, principal and teachers. Kritika said that her father has worked extremely hard to educate her.
According to her, his salary was not enough to cover her tuition expenses so she had to rely on self-study. Kritika said she carefully went through all the lessons taught by the teachers at home and devoted at least 5-6 hours to self-study. Kritika has opted for Commerce with Maths stream in class 11th and she aspires to become a Chartered Accountant. She wishes to get her name included in the meritorious list in class 11th and 12th as well.
Apart from Kritika, Ridhima Sharma from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nadaun, in Hamirpur district has topped the Class X exam results. She scored an impressive 99.86 per cent. Ridhima said that she wanted to become a doctor and serve the poor and needy. Her father, Ashwani Kumar, works in a private firm in Punjab, while her mother is a homemaker. Ridhima hails from Kaloor village and used to commute daily to school which is about 10 km from her house. She said it was only due to the support and encouragement of her teachers and parents that she could accomplish such a huge success.
