The UPSC 2023 results have been declared recently. A man named Sayem Raza from Muzaffarpur (Bihar) has not just cracked the exam, but got AIR 188. According to his rank, Sayem Raza will get a job as an IPS. He has said in an interview that he will gladly accept whichever department is given to him and work for the welfare of the people. Sayem has achieved this success in the third attempt. Sayem’s father, Munawar Raza, is a retired State Bank of India employee, and his mother is a homemaker. Sayem initially pursued his early education in Muzaffarpur. Subsequently, he moved to Bengaluru to pursue a BTech degree. Upon completing his studies there, he began working as a Data Scientist at a company. Driven by a desire to achieve greater heights, he decided to prepare for the UPSC exam after gaining some work experience. Sayem returned to his hometown in Muzaffarpur to focus on his exam preparation through self-study. In his third attempt, he achieved a remarkable rank of 188 in the UPSC exam.
Sayem Raza told Local 18 that in spite of having a good and stable income, while working as a data scientist, he was not satisfied with his work. He felt that he should do some work which would allow him a chance to help people. He decided that civil service was the perfect job for him. After much thought and after consulting his family members, he left the job and returned home. After that, he started preparation for UPSC through self study.
Munawar Raza said that he readily agreed to his son’s decision to quit his job to get into civil service. After quitting his job and coming back home, Sayem told people in his locality that he was working from home and did not reveal to them that he had quit his job. He says that he had full faith in Sayem’s hard work, dedication and preparation and now that the results are out, he has made everyone proud.
