Sourav Ganguly is worried about the confidential information stored in his phone which has gone missing.

India legend Sourav Ganguly has filed a complained regarding theft of an expensive phone from his Behala Chowrasta residence, located in Kolkata.

The former BCCI president lodged a complaint at the Thakurpukur police station on February 11. The smartphone is reportedly valued at Rs 1.6 lakh.

A report by The Times of India quoted sources as saying that the phone was last traced around 11.30 am on Saturday.

The cops stated some workers, painting the house, were present on the premises at that time and could be questioned.

“We may question some of them,” the report quoted a senior official as saying.

Ganguly is reportedly worried as the phone has ‘access’ to several accounts and his financial transaction-related information may very well be at risk, as per various reports.

“I believe my phone was stolen from home. I saw the phone for the last time around 11:30 am on January 19th. Then I tried to find the phone but couldn’t find it. Deeply concerned about losing my phone. Because that phone has multiple contact numbers and access to personal information and accounts. I am requesting to trace the phone or take appropriate action,” Ganguly wrote in his complaint, as per Hindustan Times Bangla.

Ganguly is widely regarded as one of the finest batters to have played for India and is counted among the top captains in the world.

Meanwhile, Ganguly recently explained why India has never hosted the ICC U-19 World Cup. India have won the title five times and despite such a terrific record, have never played host to the competition.

“There is no particular reason for it (India not hosting the U-19 World Cup). The other World Cups are played in India. What’s wrong if this one is played in places where the senior World Cups don’t take place that often? It’s one way of taking the game to other countries,” Ganguly told RevSportz.

“You can say it’s a loss-making tournament. Most World Cups not featuring the senior men’s teams are non-profit. But that’s not the reason the U-19 World Cup hasn’t been played in India. And I think it’s going to be held in India,” he added.
