Umar Akmal is being trolled on social media for his post in which he wished Kolkata Knight Riders for winning their third IPL title.

Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal’s post on social media platform X has attracted attention of several users after he ended up misspelling KKR while wishing them for winning IPL 2024.

Akmal entered the international stage with a lot of promise but his form tapered off and he has remained on the sidelines since 2019.

Following KKR’s third IPL triumph, the Akmal wrote a congratulatory note for the franchise on X, mentioning Shreyas Iyer and Gautam Gambhir.

“Congratulations to KKL on winning the IPL third trophy”, he wrote in the post.

Knowing that it wasn’t the first Akmal had misspelt a word, fans couldn’t help themselves from taking a jibe at the Pakistan batter.

One of them wrote, “KKL to congratulations on IPL third winning trophy. Lord Umar.”

Another ensured that he mentioned the correct spelling to Umar Akmal. “It’s KKR not KKL…”

“Congratulations to IPL for winning 3rd KKR,” joked another.

Another wrote English, “Winning to third KKL conhrjulation trophy.”

For the unversed, Akmal has been trolled in the past for his hilarious mistakes on social media.

Lastt year Akmal wished Indian cricket star Virat Kohli on his 35th birthday.

The Pakistan cricketer shared pictures of himself, Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar while writing a caption that confused several users.

Akmal wrote, “Happy birthday brother Virat Kohli to King in India sir Sachin. Virat Kohli, BCCI.”

Akmal made his debut with the national team in 2009. With his international career spanning over a decade, the Lahore-born batter accumulated 5,887 runs.

After an impressive stint with his country, Akmal was infamously suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board in February 2020. It was reported that the cricketer had breached their Anti-Corruption Code.

He was issued a three-year ban after he pled guilty to failing to report corrupt approaches. His ban was eventually reduced to 12 months by Pakistan’s Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) but a fine of Rs 21.6 lakhs was imposed.
