Gujarat Titans (GT) have signed Punjab’s Gurnoor Brar as the replacement for Jharkhand’s left-arm pacer Sushant Mishra. The development comes a day after the Shubman Gill-led side registered a promising win against defending champions Chennai Super Kings.
As stated in an official IPL release, Gurnoor has been roped in at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. However, it’s yet to be known why GT opted to have a replacement for Mishra for the remainder of the season.
“Gujarat Titans have signed fast bowler Gurnoor Singh Brar as a replacement for Sushant Mishra for the remainder of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024,” the statement read.

Who is Gurnoor Brar
Considered an emerging fast bowler in Punjab’s cricketing circuit, Brar has played 5 first-class matches and a List-A game. In 2023, he played a solitary match for the Punjab Kings in the IPL.
GT’s playoff hopes still alive
Captain Shubman Gill cracked a blistering century while Sai Sudharsan hit his maiden IPL ton as Gujarat Titans kept themselves in the play-offs race with a 35-run win over Chennai Super Kings on Friday in Ahmedabad.
Sudharsan (103 off 51 balls) matched skipper Gill (104 off 55 deliveries) stroke for stroke as the two openers notched up destructive centuries to propel GT to 231/3.
The home team’s bowlers then stopped the defending champions for 196/8 despite fighting fifties from Daryl Mitchell (63) and Moeen Ali (56).
The win lifted GT from the bottom of the table to the eighth spot. They have 10 points from 12 games.
