In the humble village of Machattu in Byndoor Taluk of Udupi, Karnataka, a strange incident took place that left the local people shocked, as well as overjoyed. A young man named Vivekananda vanished under mysterious circumstances. Then he suddenly reappeared after almost a week, which left everyone baffled. His pet dog is being credited for his safe return. As per media reports, Vivekananda’s return was a cause of great enjoyment and celebration in the village. It was an occasion marked with streets filled with people, who hollered; and the air was filled with happy cries.
Vivekananda was welcomed back with a grand procession and his return was considered nothing short of a miracle. It so happened that the young man suddenly went missing for some time. The entire village began a relentless search in and around the village, even the surrounding areas. Soon, the local authorities were informed. Police along with forest department officials joined hands in the matter to look for Vivekananda. The diligent efforts by everyone proved to be futile, as nobody could find a trace of Vivekananda. The concern for his well-being grew.
What the local people and authorities could not do, was done by Vivekananda’s four-legged hero, his pet dog. Reportedly, after a week of the young man going missing, the dog went out in search and brought him back, which astonished everyone and led to celebrations. The furry companion has been hailed as the saviour. Vivekananda and his pet dog were given a hero’s welcome in the village.
Finally, Vivekananda returned to the comforts and safety of his home which was followed by a cake-cutting celebration. The family was thankful to everyone who was part of the search party for their beloved son. The exact reason behind his disappearance is still not known.
As per rumours, right after the disappearance of the young lad, astrologers were consulted by the localities. The family too visited the temple and conducted rituals and prayed for the safe return of their child. Reportedly, the family members mentioned that the boy used to often sit near this particular stone. It is believed he went missing from there and the stone has some divine powers. Hence, the family conducted rituals near the stone, thinking it may have some spiritual significance. The incident reminded people of the Kantara movie, where an artist from a village suddenly went missing.
