SpiceJet extends Rs 1,999 monsoon offer pan-India
The offer is applicable to airline's all domestic destinations, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, a company official said.

Mumbai: Budget carrier SpiceJet on Tuesday extended its special monsoon fare offer with a starting ticket price of Rs 1,999 (all inclusive) pan-India, a day after the newly-launched AirAsia India announced Kochi as its third destination in the network at an all inclusive fare of Rs 500. The offer is applicable to airline's all domestic destinations, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, a company official said.

The bookings under the extended offer can be made from June 17 to June 19 with a travel period validity starting from July 19 and lasting up to September 30, 2014, the company said. AirAsia India, which entered the budget segment space with its first flight to Goa from Bangalore on June 12, is now all set to launch its flight services on the second route, Bangalore-Chennai-Bangalore from coming Thursday. Besides, it has already announced to add Kochi in its network from next month.

SpiceJet had earlier last week announced a monsoon scheme starting from Rs 1,999 for its flight from eight South Indian cities - Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mysore and Visakhapatnam. Following the entry of the Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia in the domestic market through its subsidiary AirAsia India, its rivals IndiGo and SpiceJet have been trying to match its low-fares with one after another promotional offers to wean away the customers to their sides.

Before rolling out the monsoon offer, SpiceJet had come out with a promotional all-inclusive ticket offer starting from Rs 2,999 for a one-way journey on domestic routes, primarily from Tier-II cities.
