Hyderabad to get first auto mall

New Delhi: Now here's a mall with a difference, Hyderabad will host India's first mall for cars.

It will cost Rs 400 crore to build and is expected to be a one-stop shop for anything to do with cars and 2-wheelers.

This Hyderabad-Mumbai road on National Highway 9 will soon have much to be proud of. It will lead to India's first automobile mall.

About 30 car companies are likely to set up showrooms, workshops and warehouses in it. Spread over 35 acres of land, the mall will cost about Rs 400 crore to build.

Officials at Prajay Engineers Syndicate, its builder, says the mall will help car retailers and buyers.

"Companies are looking at integrated facilities, which they can provide their clients, a one-stop service for all their servicing, spares and also allied services," said N Ravinder Reddy, Director-Operations at Prajay Engineers Syndicate Ltd.

Besides cars, two-wheeler firms will also set up showrooms in the mall. About half the built-up area, or 16 lakh square feet, will be taken by vehicle companies and the rest will house an entertainment complex.

The mall will also have an exhibition and convention area for product launches. It's due to open its doors in the second half of 2008. It will be a mall with a difference.
