In India, the electric vehicle (EV) market has been steadily growing in recent years due to various factors like government incentives, increasing environmental awareness, and improvements in EV technology and infrastructure.
The penetration of EVs among passengers was just 1 per cent in 2022 and increased to 2 per cent in 2023. This growth is expected to continue as more automakers introduce electric vehicle models and charging infrastructure expands across the country, as reported by HT Auto.
Recently, Tata Motors, which has a market share of about 80 per cent in the EV passenger market, launched the all-new Tata Punch EV. Another company that has seen considerable growth in the EV market is Citroen. Last year, the company launched eC3, which has also attracted a lot of customers.
