A one-way drive at the Rajiv Gandhi Bandra Worli Sea Link in Mumbai is set to become more expensive by April 1. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced a toll hike on the bridge, making it costlier by 18 percent.
From the above-mentioned date, a one-way drive at the iconic Mumbai’s Worli Sea Link will cost Rs 100. The amount will be applied to all the cars and Jeeps, increased from Rs 80. The truck drivers, minibusses and tempos have to pay some Rs 160, while the heavy vehicles including buses and 2-axle trucks now will be charged Rs 210 for the same.
It has been reported that the changes in the toll price will remain the same till March 31, 2027.
Toll Coupon Booklet
As per the detail shared by the ET, the official says that the motorist can save a decent amount by purchasing booklets in advance, which contain toll couples. Interested ones can enjoy a 10 percent discount on a booklet purchase containing 50 toll couples, while a booklet with 100 toll coupons can be purchased under 20 percent discount.
Current Toll Charges
Currently, the authorities charge a toll of Rs 85 for cars and jeeps for using the bridge. For all LCVs and buses & trucks, the amount was set for 130 and Rs 175 respectively.
Major Relief From Traffic
The cable-stayed bridge was opened for traffic in 2009, making it easy for travelers to make an up and down from Mumbai’s Worli and Bandra. The bride also makes it easy for the public to travel north and south by avoiding congestion in Dadar, Mahim, Prabhadevi, and Worli neighborhoods.
