Since its introduction to the Indian market in December 2022, the Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 has made a significant impact.
The bold design and impressive performance have captivated enthusiasts. Emerging as a frontrunner among elite vehicles in the country, this SUV has quickly become a sought-after model in Toyota’s lineup.
Amid the dynamic landscape of the Indian automotive market, the Land Cruiser LC 300 has not only turned heads domestically but has also garnered attention in overseas markets. Remarkably, the SUV’s demand has surged to the extent that waiting periods in certain international markets are reportedly reaching up to three years.
Priced at roughly Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom), the flagship SUV made a strong entry into the Indian market, with dealers requesting a significant Rs.10 lakh as the booking amount. However, a recent development has stirred the automotive community as Toyota announced a temporary suspension of fresh bookings for the Land Cruiser in India. Reports suggest that the reason for this unexpected decision is an overwhelming demand for the SUV.
As of now, it remains unclear when the bookings will be reopened, but the brand has assured auto enthusiasts that an official announcement will be made soon as to when the process will restart.
The Toyota Land Cruiser made an earth-shattering appearance at the Auto Expo 2023. The audience at the event was left awestruck by its robust looks and advanced features.
Toyota Land Cruiser: About
Unlike the model sold in overseas markets, the India-spec Toyota Land Cruiser, or LC300, comes with a 5-seat layout. It is powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine that churns out an output of 305 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a 4-wheel drive system.
The LC300 features a completely new layout inside, with the highlight being a 12.3-inch touchscreen that now gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a 14-speaker JBL audio system. The Japanese carmaker has assured that the Land Cruiser 300 will have a 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty.
The new Land Cruiser 300 promises incredible performance along with a revised control system that provides amazing off-roading capabilities. In addition to that, Toyota has added a more advanced Multi-Terrain Select system, which enhances Deep Snow and Auto modes.
