New Delhi: Finally, the royal heiress has arrived. The Duchess of Cambridge safely delivered a daughter at 8.34 am on Saturday morning.
"Oh Yeah...Oh Yeah Oh Yeah... It's a Girl," an official announcement was made outside by a traditionally dressed Royal knight at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary Hospital as the crowd cheered "Hip Hip Hurray". The team of royal doctors confirmed that the mother and the baby were doing fine. Prince William, the Prince of Cambridge was present at the time of the birth of the baby girl who weighs 8lbs and 30 oz.
Since British Monarchy attracts maximum attention from around the world had all eyes were set at the Lindo Wing at the St. Mary's Hospital in London, when Princess Kate Middleton was admitted early morning at 6 AM. The wait wasn't as long as 10 hours, as it was in 2013 when Prince George was born as the Princess had to struggle for the long and painful labour.
The newly born Princess will be fourth in the line of throne and everyone is hopeful that a member of Royalty will come out to address the public about the new member.
The baby arrived amidst cheers, celebration and a dash of humour as Twitter was abuzz with the news of arrival of royal baby, which has been an object of curiosity.
The joke when the Duchess went into labour was about how Prime Minister and Democrat leader David Cameron avoided using the word Labour in his Twitter message to Kate Middleton went in the early labour on Saturday morning. David Cameron wished Kate on Twitter, but articulately avoided using the word Labour in his tweet.
Whatwouldkatedo.com had customised a 'colour Kate' feature for the earnest citizens waiting for the baby as Kate went in labour. The delivery was almost a week overdue and the joke doing rounds was about how the Royal baby was 'refusing' to come out till the boring elections were over.
Jason Knauf, acclaimed American PR guru was the man of the moment all this while. There was twitter frenzy As #RoyalBabyWatch and #GreatKateWait2 trends on Twitter, the media from across the world were camping in front of the hospital. However, unlike last time when the media camped for more than a month to catch an update on arrival of royal baby, the line-up this time was far more structured. Last time around, during the wait for Prince George, there were more than 25,000 tweets per minute about the royal birth. Buckinghum Palace was determined to avoid the media frenzy surrounding the baby as was seen earlier, for this Jason Knauf had chalked out a systematic plan.
Knauf, an expert in crises management, well known as PR spin doctor who deftly handled the fall out of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), has put a lid on unnecessary speculations and rumours. Knauf who has also worked as adviser to New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark had made arrangements for the accredited journalists of the UK media. The pavement outside St Mary's hospital had been crowded with tripods and cameras.
Brian a sniffer dog was a centre of attention as it had been alertly guarding the Lindo Wing entrange along with the cops, while the Princess was in labour.
Speculation over the gender of Royal Baby No. 2 was the biggest topic in the betting circuit. The royal couple officially confirmed that they had not inquired about the gender of the baby so as to retain the element of surprise. The bookies had rumoured to put their money on Princess with the name Charlotte, which is now ahead of Alice, the name speculated earlier. Derived from the grandfather Prince Charles, the feminine version Charlotte is the best bet for the punters. The name Diana, after William's mom late Duchess of Wales Lady Diana is also speculated to be the probable baby name.
