US President Joe Biden received severe criticism from both the Democrats and Republicans over his response to an Israeli airstrike that killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza on Monday. The criticism came after Biden said that though he was “outraged and heartbroken” over the deaths of the aid workers, his administration won’t change its approach towards the Israel and Hamas war.
Jon Favreau, former speechwriter for ex-US president Barak Obama, also slammed Biden’s comment, calling it “weak”, suggesting that the President’s “private anger” is insufficient without leveraging change from the Israeli government.
“The President doesn’t get credit for being ‘privately enraged’ when he still refuses to use leverage to stop the IDF from killing and starving innocent people,” Favreau wrote on X, adding, “These stories only make him look weak.”

Notably, Favreau’s comments came in response to a report published in Politico which quoted several officials hinting that Biden has no intention of changing take on his current Israeli policies.
7 World Central Kitchen Aid Workers Killed By Israeli Airstrike in Gaza
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday admitted that Israel’s military had “unintentionally” killed seven aid workers with a US charity in an air strike in Gaza. Terming the incident “tragic case”, Netanyahu said that it would be investigated “right to the end”.
The victims were Australian, British, Palestinian, Polish and US-Canadian employees.
Footage shared by AFPTV showed the roof of a vehicle emblazoned with the group’s logo had been punctured, alongside the mangled wreck of other vehicles.
Meanwhile, Israeli strikes continued throughout the territory with the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza saying 71 people were killed between Monday and Tuesday.
The Israeli military on Monday ended a two-week operation around Gaza’s largest hospital, Al-Shifa, which left the complex in ruins and killed hundreds.
